Lakshmi Manchu took to Twitter to share her frustration over an incident with Indigo Airlines during a security check. She explained that her bag was flagged and set aside by the airline staff, who refused to allow her to open it herself to reveal its contents. Instead, they insisted on handling it themselves and warned that her bag would be left behind if she did not comply. In her tweet, she expressed her outrage, writing: “My bag pulled aside and @IndiGo6E and they won’t let me open my bag. They insist to do it or else my bag will be left in Goa, someone help!!! Flt 6e585.. this is ridiculous, and the staff is being extremely rude.”

Lakshmi Manchu further expressed her frustration by revealing that the airline staff failed to attach a security tag to her bag in her presence, despite her repeated requests. She voiced her concerns on Twitter, writing: “This is harassment @IndiGo6E. After all that, they did not even put a security tag in front of my eyes. Even though they insisted they would take responsibility, I highly doubt Indigo will be accountable if anything is missing.” Questioning the airline’s practices, she added, “How is this even possible to run an airline like this?” and held them accountable for any potential loss of items from her bag.

In her final tweet, Lakshmi Manchu criticized the airline for stopping passengers over trivial items like cutlery and medical equipment. She highlighted an incident where a fellow passenger was forced to leave her luggage behind because the airline couldn’t check it in on time. Sharing her frustration, she tweeted: “They pulled people aside for a sleep apnea machine! Spoon, fork, and knife cutlery! One girl had to leave her luggage because they couldn’t go through her bag on time!!!!!! Ok, I’m done! @IndiGo6E loves making you feel violated…”

Lakshmi Manchu recently shared a video on social media showing her bags improperly secured and missing security tags. Along with the video, she wrote, “I rest my case @IndiGo6E,” emphasizing her dissatisfaction with the airline’s handling of her luggage.

Indigo Airlines responded to Lakshmi Manchu’s tweets, addressing the issue raised. In their initial reply, they stated: “Ma’am, we understand the inconvenience you experienced this morning. As per our records, your checked-in bag was detained by airport security, managed by the airport operator, due to strict regulations regarding prohibited items in check-in luggage. (1/2)”

They later followed up to clarify: “We appreciate your cooperation with our team and the security personnel in resolving the matter, ensuring the bag could be cleared for check-in. Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you a pleasant flight. ~Team IndiGo (2/2).”

The incident sparked criticism of Indigo Airlines, with many suggesting that Lakshmi Manchu consider flying with a different airline in the future. Responding to the suggestions, she quipped, “What to do, they have the best timings!” highlighting her frustration yet acknowledging the convenience of Indigo’s schedule.8i
