As of December 21, 2024, KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad released an updated health bulletin on 9-year-old Sritej, who was critically injured during a stampede at Sandhya Theatre in RTC Cross Roads, Hyderabad.

The tragic incident occurred on the night of December 4 during the premiere show of the film “Pushpa 2” at Sandhya Theatre, attended by actor Allu Arjun. A massive stampede ensued, leading to the tragic death of a woman named Revathi and severe injuries to her son, Sritej.

Earlier, on December 17, doctors confirmed that Sritej suffered brain damage due to the incident. Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand stated that his recovery would take considerable time, and ongoing treatment would be essential because of the severity of the brain injury.
